"What lies at the heart of worship is God's continual movement toward the people of the world and the continual response of the people of God in faith and obedience." ~ Robert Webber
If we could all have just an ounce of understanding as to how often, how much, how deeply, and how unconditionally God pursues us, then we would understand love, then we would understand worship. It's so baffling to think that we can't see how much the Lord calls us on a daily basis. Our souls are so loved by Him that we will not ever begin to understand.
Our worship shouldn't ever be obligatory, but a natural response to the nature and love of Jesus Christ. I wish that it would come to me instantly, naturally; a knee-jerk reaction. I am constantly being challenged to spend more time with the Lord and have been so convicted about how inconsistent I am. There is nothing more reviving than time away from the world, in the presence of the Lord. It's what we were created for.
"The sea is His, for He made it,
and His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
for He is our God
and we are the people of His pasture,
the flock under His care."
~Psalm 95:5-7
